OWNER OF THE “VILLAGE AUTO BODY & TOWING INC.”

Village Auto Body & Towing Inc.

Mr Joe Lena & Mrs Paulette Lena Marviglia, of Village Auto Body & Towing Inc. have been helping the community for decades and are long time members of the Chamber.

Village Auto Body & Towing Inc. was started by Mr Sal Lena in 1967 on Grand Ave In Elmwood Park.  In 1990 they needed to find a place to expand, working closely with police departments in the area they needed room to store vehicles, they moved to Schiller Park. Today you will still see many of the Lena family still hard at work at the family business.

1.) What is the most interesting part of your job?  or What do you like best about your job?

“The most interesting, helping people when their vehicles break down.  We got to know our customers and appreciate their trust.

The best part of my work is helping our customers save money on repairs”

2.) What do you think has made your company successful?

  “Hard working & dedicated employees”

3.) Is there a funny story you would like to share from your office?

” Our Father Sal answered the business phones when the police called to dispatch the calls.  We run 24 hours 7 days a week.  Dad also opened up the office every morning at 6am.  He came in one morning opened up like he did every morning, turned the lights on, started the coffee & logged the calls from the night before in our logbook.  Before he knew it, it was 8am & not one employee had showed up.  Boy was he mad!  Ready to fire all of them until he realized it was SUNDAY!  He shut everything off & went home.  We have been chuckling about that ever since.  Dad was in his 80s & never stopped.”

4.) If you could meet anyone who would you most like to meet?

“I would have loved to have met Henry Ford, the inventor of the engine.  I would have loved to pick his brain”

5.) What would be one thing you would like to change about your job?

“ We do Police towing and sometimes we tow in DUI’s or drug arrests.  The people are very upset that their vehicles are impounded.  I wish we can do it for free, they have. bad opinions for towing companies.”

6.) What would surprise us to know about you?

“ That the owner of a Towing Impound Yard really CARES about the customers problems though many times they believe we don’t.”

Da Luciano’s Restaurant is Mr Lena’s favorite local restaurant, and also a Chamber member!
