I fell into this career. I was fortunate to be hired by State Farm right out of college with a Psychology degree from Western Illinois University. I get bored easily and every time I thought about getting comfortable, I found a new challenge. So, before becoming an agent, I worked at State Farm's Corporate Office a couple of times, took a team out to their Pennsylvania Regional Office to start up the Health Service division, and had a leadership position in a Chicago office where we supported agents and their team members. Curiosity got me the professional designations I hold and forever changed how I see insurance. It's not about the products, it's about what the products do. Insurance products help people manage risk. Some risks, we retain because we don't know how to transfer them. Some risks, we keep because we can afford to keep them. Other risks we keep because we can't afford the solution. As an agent, I can help people sort it all out. Small Business Owners are a passion for me. The US economy depends on its Small Business Owners and Small Business Owners have a lot of people depending on them. Their families, their employees and the families of their employees all rely on Small Business Owners.
